WONDER WOMEN

Oliver Leith's critically-acclaimed chamber opera Last Days premiered in a sold-out run of performances at London's Royal Opera House in October 2022. In this new studio recording, released on Platoon in June 2024, the stellar cast return to their original roles and the 12 Ensemble led by Jack Sheen anchor Leith's tightly wrought and deeply imaginative score. Based on the cult film Last Days written and directed by Gus Van Sant, this new opera from composer Oliver Leith and librettist Matt Copson plunges into the torment that created a modern myth, as we witness the undoing of Blake, whose self-destructive spiral lies at the heart of the 90 minute opera. 3760396022976 DGGF22471.1 44337025 26.99 35.98 1.28 DIGGERS FACTORY VINYL LP CLASSICAL OPERA / OPERETTA / ORATORIO 09/27/2024 https://mediacdn.aent-m.com/prod-img/500/66/4337066-3177564.jpg 76 2 N LONDON MUSIC WORKS MUSIC FROM SUCCESSION Dive into the immersive universe of Succession like never before with the official vinyl soundtrack. On the one hand, it is a homage to all the wonderful female composers of the 17th century, but also to all the talented female musicians of all times who too often had to hide their talent behind their husbands or give up their careers too early. On the other hand, Christina Pluhar also draws her inspiration from the traditional music of South America and Italy and looked for songs that tell stories about extraordinary, strong, courageous but also sad women. First and foremost is the wonderful Mexican song "La Bruja" (The Witch), which symbolizes the freedom of all women at all times and in all cultures. Celebrate women in all their facets and with all their talents together with Luciana Mancini, Celine Scheen, Benedetta Mazzucato, Vincenzo Capezzuto, Christina Pluhar and L'Arpeggiata!
