A brand-new, swinging version of “West Side Story” arranged and orchestrated by Ludovic de Preissac in a single Suite inspired by different versions of the famous musical. The album is a tribute to Leonard Bernstein, the creator of this immensely successful work – 10 Oscars! – that remains one of the greatest of the 20th century. Ludovic de Preissac's arrangements recall the great Trio adaptations of West Side Story by the immense Oscar Peterson, as well as the “West Coast” combo adaptations of the Sixties: the quality of the composing is just as important as the inventiveness of the soloists and guests in magnifying two of jazz' fundamentals: brio in the score and excellent improvisation.
