American R&B band Tower of Power has been continuously performing since 1968. Hailing from Oakland, California, they found their biggest commercial success during the early 1970s. The present release was taken straight from Tower of Power’s personal archives, and is a historic recording from the band’s formative years. Recorded at Boston’s K-K-K-Katy’s Club in April 1973, the concert features the group’s most popular front man, Lenny Williams. K-K-K-Katy’s Club, later renamed Celebration, was a popular spot during the seventies. This was where Bostonians went for bust-loose dancing or a good time with great music. Remastered for optimal sound quality, this release will transport you back nearly five decades to a raucous and funky Saturday night.
