The program of the present release proposes original pieces, penned by composers, who found their models of inspiration in Mozart and Schubert. While these influences can be clearly heard in the pieces’ styles, it is interesting to see how these individual composers were inspired by the same artists but include their own unique styles as well. The Classico Terzetto Italiano performs these works on period instruments tuned at 430Hz, to recreate the proper sound and tonal balance of the time. The ensemble feels strongly about the importance of the utilization of these instruments: this music was born and conceived for instruments that sounded this way, and not like we are used hearing on modern instruments. Composers featured on this release include Joseph Weigl, Wenzeslaus Matiegka, and Joseph Kuffner.
