Thomas Trachsel completed his studies as a band conductor at the College of Music in Bern with honors in 2. The musical language in his works is based on late romantic traditions, mixed with contemporary elements. His typical styles include portraying melancholic phrases and themes, large-scale suspense, formidable sound breakouts and also orchestration that is extremely demanding in nature. The title of this symphony, Apocalyptic, is used in Trachsel's eyes as - for everything that exists between heaven and earth, visible and invisible.
