The Teddy Bears Picnic New Colombian Brass Band, Foreman

Musical depictions of weather, animals and other flora and fauna dot the classical landscape. Saint-Saëns’s “Carnival of the Animals” and Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf” being but two enormously popular, conspicuous examples. And so too, not uncommonly, were animal depictions to be heard in American brass band music of the late 19th and early 20th century. The modern interpretations of a choice selection of such works on Teddy Bear’s Picnic offer a wonderful re-introduction of this music to adults and children alike!
