The Music of 9/11, Vol. 1 / New World Ensemble; Kevin Malone

• Kevin Malone visited Ground Zero, met with 9/11 commission officials and others, and wrote ‘Eighteen Minutes’. Using recordings of the air traffic controllers, he came up with ‘Requiem 77’ for solo cello. He then wrote Angels and Fireflies as a result of an evening visit to the crash site of UA93. This version is for flute and string orchestra.
