This new recording by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra focuses on the much-loved film soundtracks from iconic movies such as Rear Window, the Lost Weekend, a Fistful of Dollars, Shane, Key Largo, Walk on the Wild Side, Never on Sunday, Chinatown, Wuthering Heights and a Passage to India - many of which were multi-Academy Award winners. With a huge 85-piece orchestra (including multiple harps and pianos) this disc is a celebration of an era when a film's orchestral soundtrack was integral to it's success.
