In France are (were...) called "Gueules noires" (black faces) the miners, due to the coal which would blacken their faces. This 3-CD set is the unique sound track testimony of the miners and their wives, so that the memory of a profession, a culture and a community doesn't get erased with the time. These testimonies (in French) allow us to consider and participate in the human adventure in a 20th century industrial France.
