Johann Sebastian Bach’s Markus-Passion BWV 247 was originally performed on Good Friday in 1731. Most of the music has been lost, however, the libretto is still intact. For this recording, instead of reconstructing a recitative, St. Mark’s gospel is spoken. Ensemble Wunderkammer performs the music for this work, conducted by Peter Uehling.
