United States Coast Guard Dixieland Band: South

This wonderful album, recorded by the US Coast Guard Dixieland Jazz Band, contains many selections considered to be standards in the Dixieland repertoire. They have been played by many of the greatest Dixieland musicians including the Dukes of Dixieland, Pete Fountain, Al Hirt, Louis Armstrong, and Jack Teagarden, to name a few. South is the first recorded release by the ensemble and dedicated to the men and women of the US Coast Guard who selflessly performed their duty in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. South is a fantastic reflection of the cutting edge of today's Dixieland music.
