Sonatamania, Vol. 1

'Every few years I bring out both sonatas and observe with interest how my approach to them shifts slightly each time, while my enthusiasm remains unaltered. So this recording too (essentially like any fixed record of music that is in itself fleeting) can only be seen as a progress report, which will be followed by updates. Both works reveal their mastery by rewarding every rediscovery of them.' Kathrin Isabelle Klein
