Simca Heled, Live II, finds the acclaimed veteran Israeli cellist performing against three differing backgrounds five works of music originally for, or so arranged, the cello. Schubert’s Arpeggione and François Couperin’s Pieces en concert feature the Israel Sinfonietta and Mendi Rodan; Boccherini’s Adagio from his Cello Concerto in B flat features the Israel Philharmonic and Sidney Harth; Stravinsky’s Suite Italienne features long-time partner, pianist Jonathan Zak and a short solo cello piece by Leib Ailenberg, Lelero, completes the CD.
