Schubert - Janácek

For this CD Herbert Schuch has not only selected two composers but also two different instruments. He plays the A-major Sonata on a Fazioli grand piano that provides him with a somewhat more slender sound. The Schubert program is divided by Leoš Janáček’s 1905 Sonata; this is almost like an “Unfinished,” for the composer burned the third movement shortly prior to the premiere.
