Ars Produktion again presents more interesting Franz Schubert rarities. Schubert set to music no less than two libretti, including “Adrast”, D137 and forty-eight Johann Mayrhofer poems. It is not known when this probable three-act Singspiel, of which seven complete and four incomplete numbers are extant, was composed; conjecture places it around 1819/20. Also featured are three other works orchestrated by others, including a ‘Berlioz’ “Erlkönig”, D328 and a ‘Brahms’ “Ellens Gesang”, D838.
