A diminutive, sensitive person was Romanian-born Clara Haskil (1895-1960), but for the listener’s sake as well as for historically accurate record-setting, she was also a piano of supreme artistry that left to posterity a fair number of quite lovely, penetrating recordings of the classics of the piano literature. These recordings of 11 sonatas by the prolific composer of such works, Domenico Scarlatti, and the grand, last sonata of Schubert, D960, are being re-introduced into the active catalog by Archipel due to customer demand, cleaned up using Hi-End restoration Technology.
