Medieval Carols

A magnificent collection of English carols from the 15th century, when the carol tradition started to evolve. None of the carols on this disc are ascribed to a specific composer or poet. They consist of alternating verses and refrains, in a mix of Latin and English. Songs include "Ave Maria," "What tidings bringest thou?," "Hail Mary full of Grace," and more. (Naxos)
