Though little known today, Pierre de Manchicourt was regarded - by Rabelais among others - as one of the greatest masters of his age. In this program, where motets and chansons frame the Missa Veni Sancte Spiritus, Gli Angeli Geneve restores him to his rightful place, inviting us to rediscover his dense, expressive polyphony, punctuated by brilliant and at times disconcerting audacities. An album shedding light on one of the most distinctive voices of the Franco-Flemish Renaissance.
