Munich composer Max Beckshafer invites us on a fantastic roller coaster ride filled with moving moments on his new Genuin release, where each piece is a world premiere recording. Beckschafer presents settings of new and old poetry from the Middle Ages to the post-modern era, bridging the gap over several centuries. Sometimes we feel like we are listening to a medieval troubadour, sometimes we hear the disconcerting sound clusters of our time. A pupil of Killmayer, Beckschafer collaborated with brilliant countertenor Franz Vitzthum, the Ensemble Stimmwerck, and the Ensemble Il Capriccio for this production- artists who truly make the dazzling colors of his music shine.
