In the 17th & 18th centuries Italy was regarded as the home of music, especially for the ever more popular opera genre. Opera’s extraordinary significance also provided a solid base for instrumental music, the virtuosity of the human voice inspiring the solo concerto genre then increasingly taking shape. Former Berlin Philharmonic flautist Junko Ukigaya plays as soloist with chamber music ensembles both at home and abroad. Together with an ensemble led by Klaudyna Schulze-Broniewska (1st violin), this Bella Musica release features concerti from Vivaldi, Boccherini, Mercadante and Platti.
