For this album, violinist Sarita Kwok and pianist Wei-Yi Yang present music from a time when Janácek and Ravel were still summoning the “world of yesterday,” while Stravinsky and Prokofiev were living in the “here and now.”; These young musicians pull of the balancing act spectacularly. They continue to gain awards from competition juries and the press continually sings their praises.; These pieces give the listening moments of peace, as well as out-and-out fireworks. It’s no surprise that both musicians have won international commendation.
