Thanks to what was then called the 'post', the French were able to follow, mostly with their families, all the great events of their time. Sometimes happy, sometimes sad. The Sound Library delivers here, an anthology of 92 of these historical moments. Divided chronologically (1900-1939, 1940-1944, 1945-1952, 1953-1959, 1960-1974, 1978-1999) on eight albums, they also have an emotional and evocative value which, from Édouard Branly's first speech (1900 ) to that of Lionel Jospin in The National Assembly on Kosovo (1999), through the inauguration of the first metro line (1903), plunge the listener back into history. Moving.” (Victor BATTAGGION – HISTORIA) \\naxussv-Store\Images\PhysicalImages\3561302574929.pt01.jpg 0_x000D_ 100064 FA575 3561302257525 BACK TO HESTA ELMORE D VARIOUS FRE FRÉMEAUX & ASSOCIÉS COMPACT DISC 2023-02-28 01:37:41.020 12.34 18.99 2012-09-01 00:00:00.000 2012-09-01 00:00:00.000 22.99 14.81 100064 1057 0 \\NAXUSSV-Store\Images\PhysicalImages\3561302257525.jpg 1 \\naxussv-prodaud\Images\PhysicalImages\Thumbnails\3561302257525.jpg As the Walloon alter ego of Benoît Blue Boy, the French-speaking bluesman who pays tribute to the musical legacy of the southern United States – blues, Cajun, and music from the Delta – Elmore D borrows from the greatest American bluesmen, drawing on their strength and authenticity. Elmore is a linguist and an academic specializing in dialects, and he transposes English, the natural American language-matrix of the blues, into his own Walloon dialect: he’s also one of the last authors to use it in his writing. Through personal memories he evokes Herstal, his birthplace, and provides humorous, tender testimony to the working-class traditions of the Walloons. Situated at the confines of blues and so-called World Music, this album has a special cultural legitimacy: it is a rare witness to the rich, multiple aspects of French-language culture. There is no shortage of superlatives to introduce her: a role model in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés cabarets since the late forties, the muse of countless artists and intellectuals, a fashion icon and ambassador of the French art of living. This album brings together the great live performances of Chanson Française’s Grande Dame, all of which were recorded in Paris during her golden age and feature riveting renditions of her repertoire: Brel, Ferré, Brassens, Trenet and Desnos. The Live in Paris collection by Michel Brillié allows listeners to hear previously unreleased recordings (made at concerts and private- or radio-sessions) by the great 20th stars in jazz, rock & roll and song. These “live” takes, and the artists’ rapport with their audiences, gives these performances an additional soul and sensibility in counterpoint to the rigorous demands of studio recordings. Particular care was taken when restoring the sound of these tapes in order to meet album standards while preserving the original colors of the period.  \\naxussv-Store\Images\PhysicalImages\3561302575025.pt01.jpg 0_x000D_ 100066 FA5751 FA5751 3561302575124 TZIGANES 1954-1959 Nemeth, Yoshka Babai, Bela; Traditional FREH FREMEAUX HERITAGE COMPACT DISC /Images/CoverArt/FA5751.jpg 2023-02-28 01:37:41.020 19.49 29.99 3561302575124 2020-01-03 00:00:00.000 2020-01-03 00:00:00.000 35.99 23.39 100066 1155 0 \\naxussv-Store\Images\PhysicalImages\3561302575124.jpg 3 \\naxussv-Store\Images\PhysicalImages\Thumbnails\3561302575124.jpg The Gypsy music of Central Europe is a mix of classical music and folklore that was mainly standardized through the input of Magyar culture. Bruno Blum tells its story, resilience and evolution towards salsa. It was remarkably well recorded and outstanding groups such as La Sonora Matancera fusioned the fabulous son with various essential styles. This 3-album set — prepared by Laurent Verdeaux, reputed for making it possible to preserve the historic recordings that Hugues and Louis Panassié made for their Jazz Odyssey label — comes as a surprisingly unexpected tribute to the music of this famous bandleader. Thanks to the painstaking work accomplished by sound engineer Didier Périer in restoring Fletcher’s music, we can now listen to his orchestra under the best conditions ever. Why this particular formation and its trumpeters? Because the big band of Fletcher Henderson was famous for its trumpet sections, yet it arrived too early to be recorded directly, and is only known to us on record after countless technical issues were overcome — the nature of the sound-takes themselves, their running-times, manufacturing flaws — leaving the band’s overall sound-image slightly muddied, and even eroded. Using computer tools we had available and with recourse to various other original solutions, we have tried to do more justice to the orchestra, and relieve it of some of the weight of its years, in order to come closer to its true, sensationally colorful sound, and so allow a glimpse of the reasons why those who heard the band in action praised it to the skies, way above the others. \\naxussv-Store\Images\PhysicalImages\3561302575421.pt01.jpg 0_x000D_ 100070 FA5756 FA5756 3561302575629 ART CONTEMPORAIN Combas, Robert; Pincemin, Jean-Pierre; Arman, ; Corneille, Guillaume; Voss, Jan; Klasen, Peter; Humair, Daniel; Wou-Ki, Zao; Fromanger, Gérard; Télémaque, Hervé; Ben, ; Buren, Daniel; Soulié, Tony; Adami, Valério; Seguí, Antonio; Monory, Jacques; Debré, Olivier; Cueco, Henri; Titus-Carmel, Gérard Adami, Valério; Arman, ; Ben, ; Buren, Daniel; Combas, Robert; Corneille, Guillaume; Cueco, Henri; Debré, Olivier; Fromanger, Gérard; Humair, Daniel; Klasen, Peter; Monory, Jacques; Pincemin, Jean-Pierre; Seguí, Antonio; Soulié, Tony; Télémaque, Hervé; Titus-Carmel, Gérard; Voss, Jan; Wou-Ki, Zao FRE FRÉMEAUX & ASSOCIÉS COMPACT DISC /Images/CoverArt/FA5756.jpg 2023-02-28 01:37:41.020 19.49 29.99 3561302575629 2020-05-15 00:00:00.000 2020-05-15 00:00:00.000 35.99 23.39 100070 1057 0 \\naxussv-Store\Images\PhysicalImages\3561302575629.jpg 3 \\naxussv-Store\Images\PhysicalImages\Thumbnails\3561302575629.jpg In 1964, the jury of the Venice Biennale awarded its American Grand Prix for the first time to an American artist, Robert Rauschenberg. He had Turkish and Mexican origins, and he was an artist of delicate sincerity — as well as being a wonderful showman, with an unrivalled sense of humor that made everyone love him. The songs he left us have come down through the ages to form part of our national heritage. This album brings together some of the singer’s greatest moments in concert between 1957 and 1960, when he was at the peak of his fame. The Live in Paris collection by Michel Brillié allows listeners to hear previously-unreleased recordings (made at concerts and private- or radio-sessions) by the great 20th stars in jazz, rock & roll and song. These “live” takes, and the artists’ rapport with their audiences, gives these performances an additional soul and sensibility in counterpoint to the rigorous demands of studio recordings. Dance frees life from what in it was only survival. Paul Valéry, in his Philosophy of Dance, evokes “the mystery of a body which, suddenly, as if by the effect of an internal shock, enters a kind of life that is both strangely unstable and strangely regulated”. This kind of life" is interior life, real life, the one where the body frees itself from its utilitarian destiny, to invent purely expressive gestures. Paul Valéry, Hegel, Rousseau, Alain for the philosophers, Nijinski, Isadora Duncan or Pina Baush for the dancers, Billy Elliot, Rize or Les Chaussons Rouges for the films, all will help us to grasp the meaning of this higher life which seems to cross the body when it dances.” (Ollivier POURRIOL) Ollivier Pourriol, associate of philosophy and specialist in cinema likes to mix the two. Based on scenes from famous films, he explains to us the concepts of philosophy, which take shape in reality.
