Many important Jewish composers lost their lives in the Holocaust, Erwin Schulhoff (1894-1942), one of the greats of his generation, being but one among many. This disc features his Third Sonata from 1927, among other works. Israeli pianist Michal Tal enjoys an intensive and versatile international career. She is invited frequently for concerts and masterclasses in the USA, the Far East and Europe, as well as judging in international piano competitions. Dr. Tal's huge repertoire expands from Haydn to Ligeti and Berio, along with numerous premieres by Israeli composers.
