On this new release, Hungaroton records the Hungarian author and literary translator Elek Benedek’s most popular tales. Elek Benedek professed that Hungarian children should be given Hungarian folk tales as these present the everyday happenings, joy, sorrow, and soul of the Hungarian people. Working as a Member of the Parliament, he was the first author to consider children’s literature as an important issue of Hungarian cultural policy.
