Costanzi: Cello Sonatas - Giovanni Sollima: Il mandataro

Giovanni Battista Constanzi was an Italian composer who held the position of Maestro di Cappella of the Cappella Giulia at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. This album investigates Constanzi’s instrumental music, and includes seven sonatas for cello. The album also includes Giovanni Sollima’s Il mandataro. Italian cellist Giovanni Sollima performs these works. As a composer, he has composed a great deal of chamber works, orchestral works, and even operas and ballets.
