It seemed natural for Vincent Dumestre and Le Poème Harmonique, having already recorded some of the greatest works in the 17th c. French sacred repertoire, to contribute to Alpha’s Versailles Collection by giving its vision of François Couperin’s Leçons de Ténèbres (1714). + To this it adds a work as masterful as it is forgotten: Louis-Nicolas Clérambault’s Miserere (1733). + Formed in 1998, Le Poème Harmonique’s multi-disciplined artistic activity, centered on vocal and instrumental music of the 17th – early 18th c., represent a hallmark of Baroque performance today.
