Castelnuovo-Tedesco: Piano Music

This release presents a selection of the Italian-Jewish 20th c. composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s works for piano, a small but appealingly evocative and tuneful oeuvre.Determined not to let Castelnuovo-Tedesco fade into obscurity, or be remembered only for his famed Hollywood film music, Claudio Curti Gialdino finds inspiration in the renowned Italian pianist Aldo Ciccolini, who previously recorded the composer’s complete piano works.The dedicatee of this release, Ciccolini was also Gialdino’s teacher, allowing for deeper, insightful readings of these works.
