Captain Coe’S Famous Race

The JAZZPAR Prize, organized by the Danish Jazz Centre and sponsored by Skandinavisk Tobakskompagni between 1990 and 2004, was the world’s major international jazz award of the period. It took until 2001 before the international prize was given to a Danish recipient but, for the 1995 presentation, a major step was taken in choosing the first non-American international award-winner, Anthony George Coe.
