Once again the Swiss Artist Consort releases a wonderfully balanced production in their own meritorious and ongoing GENUIN series: the sixth to feature flutist Felix Renggli. Backed by the Chamber Academy Basel, he performs flute concertos by Carl Philipp Emmanuel Bach and François Devienne. We witness the stunning developments in the music of the 18th c. – from the offshoots of the late baroque, through the fury of the Sturm und Drang years and up to the radiance of classical era. This is music that is rarely played, and absolutely worth listening to!
