Memphis Slim only obtained his seat in the Blues Hall of Fame after his death, but he was an unavoidable reference on the blues scene, and a major influence on many rock ‘n’ roll and folk artists. This anthology contains his best moments on record between 1940 & 1961 in a 3CD set showing all the diversity of this great pianist, from his first pieces, still anchored in pre-war Bluebird blues, to his debuts as a folksinger, not forgetting the many titles he originally recorded for a black audience which became classics in countless versions by Slim and other artists.
