Bassist and composer Tomáš Liška’s “Bercheros Odyssey” is a six-part suite influenced by jazz, minimalism and classical music, written by him for the purpose of completing his studies at Berlin’s Jazz Institute. The “Pente” ensemble“ consists mainly of German artists who performed the composition together with its creator for its world premiere. The album was recently featured on the Czech Republic national radio broadcaster’s jazz channel as its “Album of the Week”. Mr. Liška (b. 1979) continues to appear at various jazz festivals in Europe, England, USA and Mexico.
