From the humorous to the sublime: on its third GENUIN-CD the Trio Ex Aequo offers a cross section of Beethoven's works for piano trio, from the early op. 1/2 to the mature Ghost Trio and the delightful variations based on the melody Ich bin der Schneider Kakadu. The timbral palette of the trio is large and meets the enormous demands the three works ask for. Each of the three trio members (Matthias Wollong – violin, Matthias Moosdorf – cello, Olga Gollej – piano) has active, professional performance careers apart from the trio.
