Antonio Janigro & Zagreb Soloists: Works for String Orchestr

Italian-born cellist and conductor Antonio Janigro is best known for his performances with the chamber orchestra that he founded in 1954, I Solisti di Zagreb. The ensemble, since inception, has helped bring contemporary fame to Baroque composers such as Bach and Vivaldi.; This recording features staples in string literature from powerhouse composers such as Corelli, Rossini, Mozart, and Shostakovich, to name a few.; All performances on this album are taken from radio productions from between 1957 and 1966 for the Berlin RIAS (known today as Deutschlandradio Kultur).
