The idea for this composition came to me while visiting Shakespeare's birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon. Amorisms sets five Shakespearean aphorisms about love. As this is a dance-piece, I wanted to keep the texts short, simple and set repetitively so that once the audience gets the idea for each movement, they can focus more readily on the dancers themselves. - Paul Moravec
