Africa: The Voices and Drums of Africa is a collection of songs from three African ensembles: Keita Fodeba sings songs from Guinea and Casamance; Kante Facelli from Dahomey, Niger, and Guinea; and Mouangu� from Cameroon. Each ensemble recounts stories from these regions. In Kankan, Kante Facelli sings: I am homesick for this town above all. Though I have seen all the cities of Europe, none equals you. Songs generally feature solo singing, strummed guitar, and African drums such as the tom-tom. Liner notes include a brief description of each ensemble.
