20Th Century Russian Piano Sonatas

Anastasia Yasko presents here a selection of outstanding Russian piano sonatas from the Soviet era. She has chosen lesser-known works from Prokofiev, Sviridov, Feinberg, and Weinberg, with the aim of giving her listeners a varied portrait of this period in Russian music history. Each of these composers showcase stylistic directions of new music, as well as characteristics of traditional Russian music.
