Bear McCreary returns to compose music for the seventh season of Outlander where characters Jamie Fraser and Young Ian race to rescue Claire before she's tried and wrongfully convicted for the murder of Malva Christie. This season showcases a geopolitical firestorm: The American Revolution arriving to North Carolina. The second part of the series finds Claire, Jamie and Young Ian leaving the colonies and arriving in their beloved homeland of Scotland. The perils of the Revolutionary War force the Frasers to choose between standing by those they love and fighting for the land they have made their new home. The emotionally rich score includes songs influenced by Scottish folk music and colonial America. Romantic strings, anthemic percussion, delicate flutes, skillful bagpipes and fiddle rhythms are abundant on the soundtrack. Fans will also recognize musical melodies from previous seasons. Vocalists Sinad O'Connor and Griogair Labhruidh each have a track on the album.
