Rachel Podger, Pamela Thorby, Susanne Heinrich, and William Carter formed an ensemble of the highest caliber when they created the Palladian Ensemble. In a more than fifteen-year career, the Palladian Ensemble was known on an international level with a reputation for excellence in Baroque performance.; In a clever program, the ensemble performs works by Handel, Telemann, Quantz, and Leclair, which fabulously demonstrate the diversity of styles in compositions of the eighteenth century. The works have been arranged appropriately to suite the ensemble’s instrumentation of recorder, violin, viola da gamba, and guitar/archlute.; This recording exemplifies Palladian Ensemble’s characteristics, such as their ability to perform baroque chamber music imbued with style, virtuosity, and musicianship.
