2016 action film Hardcore Henry pushes the boundaries of modern cinematography. The film, told from a first person perspective, follows the main character, Henry, who has just been brought back from the dead by his wife and is now a cyborg. After premiering at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival, the film became one of the highest-profile films at the festival. It won the Grolsch People’s Choice Midnight Madness Award, and opened nationwide in April 2016. The soundtrack features tracks from The Sonics, Devendra Barnhart, The Temptations, as well as original songs composed for the movie by writer/director Illya Naishuller and her band, Biting Elbows.
