After opening up frontiers with Ravel’s Greek and Hebrew songs, Nora Gubisch and Alain Altinoglu now offer an opportunity to hear an even more cosmopolitan world, guided by their mixed origins, their roots. Alain is of Armenian descent, while Nora possesses both Spanish and German ancestry. This CD includes a new recording of Luciano Berio’s Folk Songs, for which Nora Gubisch’s research on diction and traditional sources (especially in Azerbaidjan) proved crucial.
