A young Frederic Chopin visited Vienna in 1829 and met a local piano manufacturer named Conrad Graf. He immediately was taken by Graf ’s instruments, with their light action and delicate sound. Chopin’s triumphant concerts in Vienna were played on Graf ’s pianos, and Chopin was presented with one as a gift from Graf himself. This recording shows both that Chopin was a child prodigy, if ever there was one, and that he is truly one of the masters of 19th century music. A major achievement from Brilliant Classics, this collection from pianist Costantino Mastroprimano is a gold mine for both Chopin fans, and lovers of the piano.
